Kiwi Kids' News

Hello fellow bloggers
This term we have been learning how to use Kiwi Kids' News. Kiwi Kids' News is  a website for kids to go on to keep up with the news all across the world. We have to find a piecee of news that we'd like to read about. Then we write the answer  to the question.
Here is my recent work:

Handwriting

                                 Handwriting
Kia ora bloggers.

We have been learning how to write in cursive font. Here are some photos of my curvy handwiting.

(p.s. I'm still getting the hang of it.)

My multiplication progress

Kia ora
Here is my multiplication progress for this year. In Term 1 I still had to learn my 5x tables so I was on Level 2 Stage 4.

In Term 2 I knew my 5x so now I have moved up to Level 3 Stage 5. I feel good but I need to keep learning because I still don’t know my 3x,4x,7x,8x,9x,11x and 12x tables.

my basic facts progress

Kia ora

Here is my basic facts progress for this year. In Term 1 I was working on Stage 4 and I got a score of 21/60. In Term 2, my basic facts score for Stage 5 was 32/60. There is some hard stuff on Stage 5 but I’m lucky because we have some expert kids in Team Moana who can help me and the whole class.

My speech.

Kia ora bloggers,
I am presenting you my speech so read it though. If you agree, comment.

                                     Big cats

What is the point in killing our biggest cats? Just for the skin? It might make you rich but still. Poaching leads to extinction and extinction means that they don’t get a chance to live a full and happy life

Firstly, I believe when you poach our big cats there are less and less and one day you’ll wipe out a whole species of big cat. I believe the fastest animals in the world are going extinct and they’re cheetahs.  I mean it, you’ll wipe out lions, leopards, cheetahs and several more species.
If one species goes extinct, it has a flow on effect to other species. Animals are part of a food chain and if you effect the food chain some other animals might die too.

Finally I believe our big cats should live because there is really no point in killing big cats just to make a handbag or a coat or a mat. When they are alive, they can amaze tourists, they can reproduce to add more cats to the wild. Big
cats are much better alive than dead!

So are you with me or not? Because big cats  deserve a  better life than being killed and turned into a handbag I think tourists would really like to see a big cat but if there are no big cats then the poachers are to blame. But just remember once there are no big cats there are no other animals to complete the food chain
