“Eek” I screamed as I stumbled out of bed I did not know today was my birthday.  I  slowly crept out of my room I looked around the house just in case they gave me a surprise. I sighed with relief and walked slowly into the kitchen where mum was making lunches. Dad was in mum and his room getting dressed for the day. Up on his dressing table were my presents sitting like flowers waiting to bloom.

When dad was dressed he gave me my presents and I unwrapped them. I got a flower pen and note book that said the good life and lots of clothes and another note book and one toy and lots of hugs.

Mum had bought some  mini chocolate bars for my class. When I got to school I gave the bag with the mini chocolate bars in it to my teacher and went off to play before the bell rung. Then “ring ring” the bell shouted at the school to line up for morning assembly.

I could not wait to get home because there was an evil present, It was wrapped up so tight it did not let me open it. After school I zoomed home and opened the evil present. When we ripped open the evil present and it turned out to be a book.

My Numeracy Knowledge 2.

Hello. We have been doing some maths assessments. Here is my result for Stage 5 place value. numbers.

I got 5/8 of the learning outcomes. I need to work on groupings of 10s in a 3 digit number, groupings to 100 and rounding 3 digit numbers to the nearest 100.

Pleading a Cause - Persuasive Writing       

I am leaning to write Persuasively.

I pretended I was the King of Athens.  I wrote a letter to King Minos, pleading for the lives of the youths who are to be fed to the Minotaur.

I gave at least 3 reasons why their lives should be spared.

Dear King Minos,

I am writing to you about the fate of the nine doomed youths.  I plead for their release on the grounds that:

My first  reason is the nine youths do not deserve to die because they didn’t do anything wrong.

My second reason is they could make a good life and it is not fair on them to die.

My third reason  is  when they are older they will make fine warriors  and families .

Now these are my reasons, so stop feeding them to that Minotaur
